Description
Genmaicha is the Japanese name for green tea combined with roasted rice.
Tea steeped from these leaves has a light green and yellow hue.
Unlike other Japanese green teas, Genmaicha is naturally balanced with Yin and Yang — it contains both green tea leaves and roasted rice grains.
Its flavor is mild and combines the fresh grassy flavor of green tea with the warm aroma of roasted rice. Enjoy it at any time of the day.
Health Benefits
Rich in antioxidants, particularly catechins like EGCG, which help combat oxidative stress and may reduce the risk of chronic disease.
Naturally low in caffeine — about half that of regular green tea — making it gentle enough to enjoy throughout the day and into the evening.
Contains L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety, and supports a calm, focused mind.
Supports digestive health by promoting beneficial gut bacteria, helping to ease bloating and discomfort — a gentle choice for sensitive stomachs.
May help maintain healthy blood pressure and support balanced blood sugar levels, thanks to catechins, L-theanine, and GABA.

What is EGCG in Japanese Green Tea
You may have heard that Japanese green tea is good for you — but do you know why?
The secret lies in EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate) — a powerful antioxidant naturally found in Japanese green tea.
EGCG is the most abundant catechin in green tea, and it’s one of the reasons why drinking a daily cup of quality Japanese green tea is so beneficial for your health.
EGCG may help with:
- Fighting free radicals & reducing oxidative stress
- Reducing inflammation
- Supporting heart health
- Boosting metabolism & weight management
- Protecting brain health (Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s)
- Supporting healthy skin
The good news, every cup of Japanese green tea you enjoy contains EGCG naturally — no supplements needed.
From our Gyokuro, Matcha, Sencha, Genmaicha to Houjicha — each tea offers its own unique way to enjoy the natural goodness of EGCG.
Research on EGCG is ongoing and results are very promising.
